The Housing Specialist at The Center for Fair Housing, Inc., Danita Washington, Danita has of 20
years fair housing experience in counseling and is the Education Outreach Specialist. She is also a HUD Certified Housing Counselor. Her duties include responding to Center inquiries, case management, research and corresponding with various real estate companies, financial institutions, and social service agencies, and serving as an information resource for service area residents. Her training includes: the Fair Housing Fundamentals training; the AFP Fundraising Workshop; HUD training for Housing Counseling and Nonprofit Agencies; training on predatory lending by Jeffery P. May with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition; design and construction and accessibility training by Sara K. Pratt; Alabama Power Company Fair Housing Domestic Violence training; Mobile; Equity and Inclusion Housing Policy training,
New Orleans; IAOHRA Human Rights Conference, Mobile; the HUD Annual Policy Conference, New Orleans; the National Community Reinvestment Coalition training on mortgage abuse and fair lending violations; Department of Justice Civil Rights Summit: Accessibility and Disability Rights; the National Fair Housing Alliance: Fair Lending Training; Family Re-integration, Re-entry, and Parole Planning. She is a Certified Housing Counselor through the Homeowner Consortium of Alabama, Inc.
